I once was a reporter for a national magazine. Because I have a simple name, I soon discovered that there were other journalists with the exact same name working for other publications. One day, I received a letter from one of these journalists, telling me that someone had recently congratulated him for getting a new job at my publication. He wrote that he was upset to learn that there was someone with his name working for another magazine, since this would confuse readers and sources. He suggested that I use my middle initial in my byline. I wrote him back saying that I didn't have a middle name or initial. He wrote back saying that since he had already published a novel that was recorded by the Library of Congress, I might want to consider changing my name for professional purposes, to avoid confusion, especially if I ever planned to publish a book. I wrote him back saying that I wanted to keep my name, but I promised that I would stop writing professionally, which I soon did.

The following works are about relationships between people, between things, and between people and things. Most of this work originally appeared in a show in Santa Monica, California in May 1997 in a building primarily used as a television and movie post-production facility.
