Richard was born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1969. At the completion of his BFA at Elam School of Fine Art in Auckland, he moved to Los Angeles where he won a scholarship to attend the MFA program at The University of Southern California. He has participated in group shows in New Zealand and Los Angeles.
Richard currently lives in Los Angeles.
